With its fine movements and grip strength, the hand is at the centre of daily life. Nerve compression, tendon injuries, fractures and deformities directly affect how the hand works.
In this section you will find treatment for conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar nerve compression, trigger finger, tendon injuries, hand and finger fractures, ganglion cysts and mallet finger.
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Treatment Compression of the median nerve at the wrist causes numbness, tingling and weakness in the fingers. Splints and exercise help early on, and a small operation is effective in later stages.
- Finger Fracture Treatment Finger fractures may look minor, but if they heal badly they can cause lasting loss of hand function. Healing in the right position and early movement are essential.
- Carpal Bone Fractures of the Wrist Fractures of the small wrist bones, especially the scaphoid, may not show on the first X-ray and can be missed. Early diagnosis lowers the risk of non-union.
- Tendon Injury Treatment Tendon cuts in the hand and fingers, especially flexor tendons, need early surgical repair and careful rehabilitation. The aim is to restore finger movement.
- Trigger Finger Treatment When the tendon that bends a finger catches in its sheath, the finger clicks and locks. It is treated with an injection or a small release operation.

- Mallet Finger Treatment Mallet finger is a rupture of the tendon that straightens the fingertip, sometimes with a small piece of bone. Most patients heal with continuous splinting.
